Costs from the general leger are recorded and tracked throughout the pooling and allocation process and then on to the final costed products. This means that costs can be represented at any point by the relevant proportion of the general ledger codes. This drill-down facility is useful for both reconciliation purposes and for explaining the resultant costs to non-finance managers.
